Gender

For the past week we have been learning about gender. What I really enjoyed reading was the story that Mr. Inloes read to us on Wednesday. It was very entertaining and while he was reading it I was thinking to myself how true it was. It is true how girls always over analyze everything, that they need to explore everything in great detail in order to figure out a situation or a problem. On the other hand, for guys, it is also very true that guys do not really think about things in too much detail. It seems like guys' minds wander and think about something completely different than what women are thinking. I loved the end part of the essay where he mentioned the part after the car ride. How a few days later the girl was still analyzing the situation with her friends and the guy was just sitting on the couch and thinking the car ride was something important but does not know what it was. It is weird how society fews men and women and have the sterotypes of each. Not all men and women act exactly like how most of society persieves them. Did you enjoy the article that we read in class? What do you think about how society views the different genders?

As Mr. Inloes was reading us the article and we were following along, I was thinking the same exact thing. I think that soceity has way to many sterotypes on men and women, but it is because of how the media portrays both. In several movies, you never see the woman saving the day you always see the man being the hero which is fine. But for the next generations what is the world going to look like? how are women and men going to be viewed in the future? The society needs to become more equal. Men have feelings just as women do but society doesn't realize that. Society makes it seem sometimes that we are still stuck in ancient times where women never did anything and the men did all the work...that really needs to change.

I really liked the story that Mr. Inloes read to us in class yesterday. In reading that story, i realized how true it was in that women care more about relationships, and actually think about what is going on and analyze situations, as opposed to men, who get easily side tracked and distracted, and who seem like they don't care about what happens when they are with a girl. I wish that guys cared more about what happens when they are with a girl, or at least acted like they knew what was going on. I think society would be much better if men realized that it was okay for them to express their feelings, even in front of their guy friends. They wouldn't get looked down upon, if anything it would make them see more human. If men don't change, I honestly don't know what our society is going to be like in the future.

I absolutly loved the article that we read during class on Wednesday. I could completely relate to it because i always do what the typical woman in the story did. I overthink things and let things bother me for long periods of time. Sometimes i feel like it would be easier to have the mindset of a typical guy and not let certain things even affect me. Girls do let things like breakups bother them for way longer than necessary. It seems to me that society views on males are that they care a lot less about certain things than women do. I think that guys do care, but have learned that men aren't meant to put their feelings out on the table.

I think the article read in class was very interesting. I couldn't really take the article serously. I thought it was more of a comedy piece than an idea or a concept. I do agree that guys think differently than girls, but i also think guys care, but girls dont see that they do. Everything in the world can be stereotyped and this is just another topic that is.
