The Detroit lions fired president Matt Millen on Wednesday, more than seven years after the former linebacker and TV analyst took over one of the NFL's most mediocre franchises and made it the worst. "I have relieved Matt Millen of his duties effective immediately," Lions owner William Clay Ford said in a statement Wednesday afternoon. Millen's teams won a league low 31 games since he took over in 2001, but Ford refused to get rid of him until now.
Whether Millen was fired or left on his own doesn't really make a difference as the main thing is that he is gone. I love Attending a Detroit Lions game and seeing the fire Millen signs. Now we all can get rid off our signs, and make new ones that say "Now We Have a chance" its sad that people are so negative about their own home team. My father calls the team " The Dandy Lions" He compares the detroit lions to the dandy lions because their always getting picked and mowed down.
I dont know If anyone even watch the lions anymore? But What do you think of the departure of Matt Millen?

I don't want the lions. To be honest they are terrible, if him leaving means that we are going to become a good team then good for us...we should be embaressed of how terrible our football team is.
I don't really watch football and I only seen the lions play when I am flipping through the channels. I guess him leaving was good because all I know about the Lions are that they are bad. If he leaves then maybe the Lions will start winning. The new general manager can turn the team around and Detroit will have another team to cheer about besides the Pistons.
I don't really watch the Lions, but I know that Millen was never good for them. It seems like he never made any changes that were beneficial to the Lions. Through hearing people talk about Millen and him getting fired with people at The Varsity Shop, it seems like this was probably one of the best things that could have ever happened to the Lions Franchise. Hopefully we get someone new who knows what they are doing and can really benefit the Lions, so we can actually be proud of our football team.
I really don't watch the Lions that much. I used to watch them when I was younger but now the only thing I hear about them is how horrible they are. It sounds like since Matt Millen is gone it is only going to be a positive thing for the team. Hopefully since he has left the team can start winning some games. I think a lot of people have given up on the Lions, but hopefully this can turn things around.

I would like to add to this article, I Also think the lions will still be cursed until the Lions owner Ford is gone. See the problem is, no one can fire him because no one is above him. only he himself can decide is future with the lions. Ford isnt a cheap owner either. Its not that hes a bad guy. Its a simple thing called a curse. What I would like to see is the lions front office reconstructed. new ownership, new everything.
GO LIONS
