I really enjoy watching the movie "Cool Hand Luke." When we are watching the movie I like to find the comparisons between McMurphy and Luke. Their characters are very similar. They both push the rules. For example, Luke always runs away from the place where he is forced to be kept at. In "One Flew Over the Cukookoo's Nest" McMurphy always test the water with Nurse Ratched. I think that the movie Cool Hand Luke is more interesting since we read the book "One Flew Over the Cukookoo's Nest." I think it is more interesting because we are able to compare Luke and McMurphy. I always find movies more interesting when you are able to relate two charcters from completely different authors or producers. I thought the movie was good, however, when we started watching the movie "One Flew Over the Cukookoos Nest" I thought that that movie was better then "Cool Hand Luke.
What did you guys think of the movie? Do you think it is interesting that Luke and McMurphy relate to each other even though they are from different storylines?

I think the movie, "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" is very interesting, it is not what i pictured when I was reading the book. The movie gives me a better image of how the patients are treated and how each character acts. I thought the movie "Cool Hand Luke" was very interesting. At parts I think that Luke, and the other people there were treated badly, like how they had to be put into the box. And i still can't believe that Luke ate fifty eggs. But overall it was a very good movie, it was entertaining to see how Luke would run away next, he always out did himself. When we first started watchign this movie, I thought that it was based off of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" because Luke and McMurphy were so similiar. They both lived life the way they wanted to; they are both outspoken and like to push the limits. McMurphy loved to do things that he knew would make Nurse Ratched upset, he purposely tried to do things to see how long it would take him before she lost it. McMurphy is very outspoken and is very determined in getting the things that he wants. Luke, is also very determined in getting the things he wants. The one thing he wants to do is escape from where he is staying, and he finally does that; he never gives up even though he was caught twice. McMurphy is definitely a lot more interesting to watch, because it seems like you never know what he is going to do next.
When we began to watch "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" I am not going to lie to you... I had a nightmare that night. The movie was produced so well and the characters were so similar to how they were described in the movie that just by the way they looked and talked I knew who they were because the book helped you understand the plot and characters so much more. While watching "Cool Hand Luke" I didn't really understand why we were watching it at first, I understood later that all the characters were similiar in a very non-similiar way. Both characters were able to try and stand their ground without giving up and just prove to the others that they are manly men. When Luke was put in the box for the second time and was told to dig a grave in the middle of the courtyard he began to cry and beg for some of his freedom back. The next day some of the men were making fun of him that he wasn't able to handle the pressure...Luke always stood up for himself and knew that he was better than that.
Legendary picture. Love it. Great piece of writing.!
