Today is Halloween! I have seen several students dressed up but not too many. Don't you think it would be fun if our whole school dressed up? One of my friends at Seaholm told me that practically everyone dresses up on Halloween at there school. It was really shocking to me how a girl in my first hour has never been trick or treating. Do you know anyone who has never gone? I didn't realize that certain kids aren't allowed to go trick or treating whether it's because of their parents or if it's because of their religion. In my second hour class the wee-care kids came by trick or tricking and they were adorable. I noticed at least four girls who were princesses and almost all of the boys were action figures. I thought about our class topic of gender and how seeing those costumes related to girls being "girlish" things for Halloween and how boys are always "boyish" things. Whenever I go trick or treating I always seem to notice how much more chocolate I get than chewy candy. I would way rather get sour patch or swedish fish than a snickers bar.
What's your favorite candy?
At what age do you think kids should stop tick or treating?
Are you dressing up as anything for Halloween?

It is hard to choose just one for my favorite candy, but i really like sweedish fish, peach rings, skittles, and peanut M&M's. I don't think there should be a certain age that people should stop trick or treating, as long as the dress up. My first hour teacher called those people who were thinking about going out trick or treating "losers" because we are high school students, but i think as long as we dress up and really put some time into buying or making a costume, then there isn't a problem going out on Halloween. Jordan and I are in the same first hour, and it was shocking to hear that this girl has never gone out and gone trick or treating, I have never heard of anyone who wasn't allowed out. I think it would be really fun if we could get all or most of the students at school to dress up for Halloween. It is more fun to have everyone dress up, then to have barely anyone dress up. I think the kids at wee care are so cute, and I think it is such a cute idea for them to walk around school, going from classroom to classroom and getting candy and showing off their costumes. Along with Jordan, I did realize that the little girls were dressed up in "girly" outfits, and the boys were dressed up in "boyish" outfits.
Well me being not a normal 17 year old...I do not enjoy candy! I know, I know how can someone not enjoy the sugar rush in their teenage years! I just was never a fan of candy. When I was younger I used to be terrified of the dentist and getting cavities so I would never eat candy because my mom told me that the only way to not get cavities is to not eat all the candy in the world! Even though I don't like candy, it doesn't mean that I don't enjoy trick'or treating!! I don't think there should be an age limit to trick 'or treating but I think that people shouldn't get candy unless their dressed up! For halloween I dressed up as a referee with some of my friends! I had a great time!
Oh my! Halloween was awesome. I had a lot of fun, and yes i dressed up as Bart Simpson. I beleive you can never get to old to trick or treat. Its a time to enjoy yourself and be somone else, or a character. Last year i dressed up as a girl with a bunch of my buddys. I think its terrible that people think your to old to trick or treat, because its not true.
I really like Halloween. It is always fun to dress up and see everyone dress up. My favorite candy has to be reeses peanut butter cups. I think that kids stop trick or treating around high school. Usually people question why kids our age still trick or treat. I was listening to the radio driving to school on halloween and they talked about how kids have to stop trick or treating at a certain age. They said that they might make it a law because a lot of people are fed up giving teens candy when its for little kids. I don't really agree with those people who want to make it a law because everyone should go out and have fun. Like Jordan, I also was able to see the little kids walkaround in their halloween costumes. I noticed how most of the girls were princesses and most of the guys were action heros. I also thought of what we were talking about in this class. It is proof that gender really does play a role in our soceity.
